Why I left

In the last post, I shared my reasons for staying at the same company for almost thirteen years. This week, in the video below, I share why I left. Leaving a cushy salary, work I enjoyed, and an incredible team may seem crazy, but staying meant sacrificing something I deeply valued.

Too often, we compromise our ideals. We settle. And while I believe that the ability to compromise is a critical skill, I also believe that we will never feel satisfied or be our best selves if we compromise the things that matter most to us.

Sometimes small shifts away from 'settling' can have a huge impact; and sometimes we need to be brave enough to make the big, scary, crazy shifts. Either way, I'm certain of this—any shift that helps you better align with your core values is worth it.
